Emberfall Chronicle

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Emberfall Chronicle surprised us. The opening hour is slow, but once your party grows past two members the combat opens up into something genuinely tactical. You weigh elemental weaknesses, position your healer, and decide when to spend your limited ultimate charges.

The writing carries it. Characters have distinct voices, the side quests tie back into the main plot more often than you'd expect, and there's a running thread about a collapsing kingdom that kept us reading the dialogue instead of skipping it.

Grinding is kept reasonable. You can clear the story without farming for hours, though the optional dungeons reward players who want to min-max their builds. On a phone, the auto-battle toggle for easy fights is a small mercy we came to appreciate.
